Everything you need to know about DMB Coin - from buying to mining and staking.
General
What is DMB Coin?
DMB (Digital Money Bits) is a free open-source cryptocurrency derived from Bitcoin. It uses the X11 algorithm and supports both Proof-of-Work (POW) and Proof-of-Stake (POS) consensus mechanisms, with a focus on long-term energy efficiency and community-driven development.
Why 10% Premine?
The premined coins (10,000,000 DMB) are reserved for DMB development - providing new wallets, onboarding exchanges, and supporting merchant adoption out of a total supply of 50,000,000 DMB.
Can the premined coins be tracked?
Yes. The address holding the premined coins will be made fully public. Use the block explorer at digitalmoneybits.thecryptochat.net to verify all transactions.
DMB uses the X11 algorithm - an energy-efficient proof-of-work algorithm that runs 11 scientific hashing algorithms. X11 is cooler and more efficient than SHA-256 or Scrypt.
What is the block reward and how does halving work?
Current block reward is 100 DMB. Block rewards halve every 200,000 blocks. Block time target is 300 seconds (5 minutes).
Staking
How does DMB staking work?
DMB Proof-of-Stake earns 12% annually. Download the wallet, sync the blockchain, and eligible coins (30+ days old) will automatically begin staking when your wallet is running.
What are the staking requirements?
Minimum stake age: 30 days. Maximum stake age: 90 days. POS became active 90 days after network launch. Keep your wallet running and unlocked for staking.
